Solution Architect

Purpose of the role

The Solution Architect will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for QualiTest’s services and solutions. The Solution Architect will be mainly involved in -

Research & development – Define and build world-class, innovative, scalable strategic solutions to testing problems and own the design & development of internal and external delivery assets
Sales support - supporting the Sales team by providing the technical knowhow and interpreting customer requirements to design QA solutions to close the sale.
Delivery – Be the first QualiTester on the project to identify the needs, design the solution, help build the team and provide overarching technical guidance and leadership.
Knowledge & Innovation – Contribute to knowledge groups and repositories within QualiTest

Specific responsibilities

  • Design industry-leading testing solutions for different sales opportunities (E.G. automation proofs of concept, specialized domain related assets, integrating existing solutions)
  • Support the sales team post-qualification by interpreting customer requirements to devise the solutions customers need
  • Drive and develop organizational QA strategy, roadmaps and backlogs for environments, automation, tools, assets, process & innovation.
  • Evaluate new partners and tools capabilities, capacities and potential; and provide recommendations for implementation and incorporation in solutions offerings
  • Devise strategies that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically complex
  • Conduct preliminary program analysis and establish planning guidelines and strategies
  • Oversee engagement and strategy of Automation, Performance and Security teams, where applicable 
  • Provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to teams and partners at a high technical level
  • Maintain technical accountability and rigorous standards adherence across multiple concurrent clients and projects

  • Technical Leadership Ability
  • In-depth functional and industry knowledge in both Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Experience creating detailed and strategic planning & resourcing strategies
  • Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge (such as Java, Python, C#, shell scripting, SQL, UFT, Selenium, SoapUI, Service Virtualization, HP ALM, JIRA, Mainframes, Unix, Windows, AWS, Hadoop, Cloud Foundry, MQ, ETL, SOA, etc.)
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the SDLC
  • Methodology knowledge and impact on testing activities (e.g. Agile, SAFe, Scrum, CI/CD, TDD, BDD) is required
