Delivery Manager (Testing)

JOB TITLE - Delivery Manager

REPORTING TO - Business Manager

 

Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to support the Business Manager in ensuring day to day operations are undertaken to support both QualiTest clients and employees. Including but not limited to -

  • Resource management – Understanding client needs and resourcing capability to deliver.  Understanding commercial set-up to manage revenue and profit.
  • Staff development and support – Aligning QualiTesters career development with business and client needs.  Line management and day to day support.
  • Client Management – Account management responsibilities including understanding the commercial aspects of that client.  Stakeholder relationship building and management.  KPI/SLA understanding, measurements and reporting
  • Account retention and expansion – Identifying ways to add value to client, building and implementing solutions, both resource based and tools based.

 

Specific responsibilities

Manage and support the test teams

  • Manage the Testing Effort across multiple projects/Clients.
  • Support the estimate process for testing projects.
  • Advocate adherence to the company's Quality processes and procedures.
  • Act as escalation point for test managers and leads for additional support.

Maintain open communication channels within QualiTest and with Clients

  • Manage Client Delivery requirement
  • Visit clients and employees at client sites for onsite checkpoint and relationship meetings.
  • Identifying opportunities at existing accounts and raising those to the sales team, supporting the process through to delivery
  • Act as point of contact for clients
  • Coordinate reporting across all projects
  • Co-ordination between various departments.
  • Provide technical support to the Testing team.
  • Ensure that the Talent team is aware of the budget for each resource if going to the external market.
  • Attend delivery and Talent meetings, provide updates on resource assignment, resourcing issues, and bench.

Resource Management

  • Support recruitment of new resources to meet project needs (interviews, recruiting events, open houses)
  • Awareness of a resource’s skills and capability and how they can be utilized for project assignment. 
  • Allocate resources to projects.
  • Manage employee references
  • Ensure the People and Talent team are notified in a timely manner when a consultant is joining the Bench highlighting any development areas that maybe needed.

Mentor and Influence Team members

  • Influence decision to procure Software Testing tools for the organization.
  • Influence decisions regarding what software testing products are best suited for which projects
  • Continuous monitoring and mentoring of Test team members.
  • Resolve Testers'/ Project  issues
  • Complete performance reviews / career paths discussions

 

The person

  • To be based from QT Bristol offices and client site
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). 
  • Can negotiate with others and influence outcomes.  Not afraid to challenge.
  • Builds, develops and maintains strong working relationships with others both internally and externally.
  • Able to gather and evaluate information objectively and put forward recommendations and/or make decisions.
  • Work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Able to plan and organise own time and workload.

Telco sector understanding and experience would be nice to have.
